2011 S.E.S. LOCKDOWN AND EVACUATION: SMOKE HOUSE |

| Students entered the smoke house and sat down. The firemen would then explain the procedure if a fire were to break out in someone's house. |

After the initial discussion, the students moved to the second room in the smoke house where there was actually "smoke" and they were taught how to get low to the ground and exit out of the window. Staff took turns "spotting" the children as they came out of the window. Then the children proceeded to meet at their "safe spot" where they were given a sticker and brought back in to the school by their teacher. |

Thank you to the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department and the Willimantic Fire Department for their time and effort and in providing the "smoke house" for a life-like simulation of an actual smoky house.
