PREK - KINDERGARTEN
We made clay discs that were fired in the kiln and then painted. We have also been painting with watercolor and making collages.
FIRST GRADE
We read, "Rainbow Fish," by Marc Phister and made rainbow fish out of clay and painted the scales rainbow colors.
SECOND GRADE
We are making a clay project with impressions and one that they made, painted and took home.
THIRD GRADE
Third graders made a snowman out of clay and also created a watercolor painting that will be painted with either warm or cool colors.
FOURTH GRADE
Using a cool color background, fourth graders drew silouette pictures similar to Maxfield Parrish's.
FIFTH GRADE
Fifth graders have been working on clay containers. The project will be glazed and then refired in the kiln within the next few weeks. They have also been working on a collage project.
SIXTH GRADE
The sixth grade class has been learning about Eygptian and also Greek art history. The class made cartouche's and also Greek urns in 2-D. They did a pencil drawing and are adding to their art folders during the year. The class has been making two clay projects - one that is a type of container and one that is a project using a clay slab.
